Our "Winter Line Up" has already begun, but feel free to take a look at the kind of classes we offer and check back for our "Spring Line Up"!

Living Prayer | Led by Barbara & Henry Fulghum
Although the world has experienced many dramatic changes in these past decades, the need to pray has remained the same. Enrich your prayer life through this 7 week study based on The Workbook of Living Prayer by Maxie Dunnam. Book fee: $10.00

Local Mission Projects | Led by Macy Schultz
If you have a heart for missions and love participating in local projects, join us as we serve in the Mobile community. Although this will not be a weekly group, we will gather and determine what we would like to do as we serve throughout our area. The first meeting will help us determine our direction.

Book Club | Led by Maria Ward
Do you love to read and talk about books? Come join us each month beginning February 4th. Our first book is Dewey: The Small-Town Library Cat Who Touched the World by Vicki Myron. At the February 4th meeting we will discuss this book and decide what our second book will be. "Just the knowledge that a good book is awaiting one at the end of a long day makes the day happier." —Kathleen Norris

Young Women's (23-35 years old) Beth Moore Bible study of Esther | Led by Lauren Broxterman

If you've ever felt inadequate, threatened, or pushed into situations that seemed overpowering, this is the study for you. Just as it was tough being a woman in Esther's day, it's tough today. This portion of God's Word contains treasures to aid us in our hurried, harried, and pressured lives. This is a 10 week study. Book fee: $12.00

Bridge Lessons | Led by Jean King
Join us for basic beginner bridge lessons for four weeks beginning February 1. If you’ve never played or have a little knowledge of the game, you are welcome to come and learn more.

Running Group | Led by Maria Ward
Come run with us! We will be meeting Saturday mornings at 7a.m. at the Christ Center Recreation side entrance for a five mile run. The average pace will be 9 to 10 minute miles. If you are faster, come relax and take it easy with us; if you are slower, come work hard with us. Either way, just come! Isaiah 40:31

Fall in Love with Your Home Again | Led by Diane Berry
This six week class will help you "revive and rejuvenate' the way you feel about your home. Topics and weekly discussions include: "What’s love got to do with it?”; "Conquer clutter"; "Color your world"; "Go Green!"; “It pays to accessorize", and "That's entertaining."

Crocheting | Led by Colleen Harrison
Learn to crochet with chain and single and double crochet in this 4 week class. During this class you can make a scarf, afghan, or dish cloth and learn the skills for making lace.
Supplies: Crochet hook G or H. Smooth cotton thread. Cotton thread is probably best. Fancy thread is NOT appropriate for beginners. It’s too difficult to see the stitches.

Parenting | Led by Susan McConnell, counselor and author of Raising Great Kids in a Tough World and Parenting in Tough Times
Raising healthy, happy, and productive children in today’s culture is an extremely difficult challenge for parents who want to teach moral values and a disciplined lifestyle. Today’s family needs encouragement to become more effective in teaching children, communicating with each other, building a faith in kids and developing healthy self-esteem. This seminar offers information on four main topics in parenting: Building Self-Esteem in Children, Communication for a Lifelong Relationship, Effective Discipline, Money Matters for kids and their parents.

Couples Bridge | Led by Craig and Marcia Jacobs
Couples bridge will be a wonderful opportunity to join other couples in the relaxed atmosphere of the participant’s homes and enjoy playing bridge together.

Conversational Spanish | Led by Delia Pischek
Are you planning to go on a mission trip or would simply like to brush up on your Spanish? This is the class for you. During this 8-week session, we will learn important terms and phrases in Spanish.

Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain | Led by Colleen Harrison
If you can hold a pencil, you already have the skills needed to draw. How? It’s a matter of learning how to SEE. Let the “artist” part of your brain take over and do the job it is designed to do. Discover how relaxing it is to step back while your inner artist gets to come out and play. Based on the book, Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain by Betty Edwards.

Family Craft Projects for Missions | Led by Brad Boland
Looking for ways to introduce your toddler or preschooler to missions? Work with your child along with other families for four weeks to create a simple gift to bring hope and joy to others.  All supplies will be provided. Project time will be about one hour. Please consider joining Brad to deliver (when local) the homemade gifts after the project time.

Jesus in the Gospel of Mark Bible study | Led by Jeff Spiller
Reserve a brown bag lunch for $5 for this 5- week study or bring your own lunch and join Jeff as he shows us Jesus through the eyes of Mark’s Gospel.

Too Busy Not to Pray Ladies Bible study | Led by Emily Haggard
Ladies, come join us for this five-week Bible study on prayer. Too Busy Not to Pray is a classic book on prayer by Bill Hybels. Busyness keeps many of us from finding time to pray, and true prayer can't happen on the fly. This study will offer practical, time-tested ideas on slowing down to pray. Book fee: $8.00

Knitting | Led by Colleen Harrison
Learn to read yarn labels, cast on, knit, purl, and bind off. During this 4 week class, you will make a scarf or dishcloth and learn trouble-shooting skills while practicing.
Supplies: Knitting needles size 8 or 9. Smooth cotton thread. Crochet hook to match needle – G or H should do. (Optional, but handy for picking up lost stitches and binding off). Cotton thread is probably best.

Cake Decorating | Led by Vi Tearce
Want to make your child’s next birthday cake and have it look like it came from a bakery? Or would you like to learn to make the beautiful roses you see on professional cakes? Join us for 5 weeks as we learn to decorate the perfect cake and take home a beautifully decorated cake each week. Supply list will be given at the first class.
